What is the difference between a lysosome and a mitochondria?

I'm studying for a Biology test, and reading through the chapter we were assigned on cell parts. Well, the descriptions for lysosomes and mitochondria seemed very similar and was looking for clarification. Lysosomes carry enzymes formed on ribosomes and combine with food vacuoles to digest the food into smaller molecules to use in building new proteins and molecules within the cell. Lysomes also breakdown dying organelles. Don't Mitochondria do the same thing? What is the difference between a lysosome and a mitochondria?
The mitochondria is the site of aerobic respiration in the cell. It provides energy for the cell by production of ATP.
