Your cell phone reception is determined on quite a few variables. First, how close you are to the nearest cell site is primary. Most of the larger cell companies don't actually own their own sites, but lease tower space from third-party companies (in that way, one tower can actually provide service for as many as 4-5 different companies). This is particularly true in larger cities where zoning regulations and space to put up new towers are most restrictive. But that's not the only consideration. Some phones are more sensitive to signal than others (in my experiences Nokia and Motorola are better with signal, but other companies do well also). Another important consideration is geography. It's harder to get signals in mountainous areas than flat land. Signals bounce wildly off of water masses, so reception is very unpredictable in the middle of a lake. Finally, buildings can also reflect signal in strange ways, so being in a large metro downtown with lots of glass buildings can be problematic depending on where the company's closest cell site is and what it has to go through to get to your phone.

FirstBase is right. To add to it. Every provider has different technologies and frequencies, these determine how far they can provide good signal strength. So some providers may be on the same towers but not all of them. Also budgeting and objectives are different with carriers, some may not build out in rural areas, some have deals with other carriers to roam onto another carriers network. This is why some carriers may be better than others in certain locations. The phone, as was mentioned, each has different performance.
1. Where ever you move i.e from one country to another your phone will automatically find the network service for you phone. For example, your mobile usually has your country's operator logo at the top, when you fly to another country, you will find your phone operator name has changed to that country's operator logo. The cell connects directly to another network within the location you are. Some countries only have one operator while others may have several.
2. I think having a good signal depends on the range of your phone. Some phone will work in some countries and some might not- depends on their range. You have to discuss these issues with the sales man when you buy the phone or research the technology on the net further. You can also see specifications and features for each mobile phone on their official websites-some of the websites go into detail about how mobiles work etc and how each feature is important.
The signal of your phone can sometimes be affected by various interferences, such as passing under a bridge or moving in a car ( sometimes)-- depends.

We would definitely die quite quickly though if we didn't have wou mitochondria. Acctually the poison cyanide works by inhibiting aerobic respiration in the mitochondria. In particular it inhibits the cytochrom C oxidase.
There is a great book on mitochondria, its called "Power, Sex, Suicide - Mitochondria and the meaning of life" by Nick Lane (don't worry, it not a dirty book). It is really great but I don't know how much time you have.
He acctually says that if it was not for mitochondria multicellular life could not have developed and bacteria would still be all there is...

After saying no for so long, I have decided to get a cell phone, but I want one above all else to be reliable. I live out in the boonedocks (Iowa to be somewhat more precise), so "digital only" is not and option. Streaming music and Internet connection are not a priority, maybe something with a camera, definitely a good speakerphone for hands free operation when needed, GPS would be nice. I like the idea of the Nextel Walkie Talkie, but there is so little coverage in the area I live and no one else in the area has it, so that would be pretty much a waste.

I want to know how you can prepare cell membranes to view under a microscope. I am assuming use of an electron microscope here, due to the small size of the cell membrane. You do this by using a dye that is absorbed by the cell membrane and then makes a large contrast between that and the background. I know of only one dye for light microscopes called Methyl Blue. It is not for cell membranes though it is for the nucleus of the cells but the principle is exactly the same, just look for light microscope slide preparation dyes.

Also check your settings and keep things to a min/ like you said your back light. etc. Also drainage can happen because of your tower connection and the call you are making. If you are on digital it takes more batt power than normal setting. If you can surf the net this drains the battery too. Also if you roam a lot. As it is looking for a connection it will use more power.. these are all things to take in consideration.
btw.. it was recommended that i leave the charger on as long as possible and with my kyo there is no harm in overcharging these lion batts

Is there a way that when I paste a picture (copy and paste a pic) into an excel spreadsheet cell and have the cell automatically expand to what I just pasted? I understand this can be done for text, but can it be done for pics I paste into it? And can it be done when embedding an object?

As opposed to 'text', you don't really 'paste a picture into an Excel spreadsheet cell'. Objects inserted/embedded into an Excel spreadsheet actually 'float' above the worksheet. You can size the rows/columns to make it appear that an object resides 'in' the cell, but it does not.

What can I do to make my cell phone battery work longer?
The battery on my cell phone that i've had for approximately 2 years lasts about 10 minutes when fully charged. My last resort is buying a new battery. What can I do to make the battery life longer? It is a lithium ion battery in a kyocera cell phone.
If i do have to buy a new battery? How much would it cost me or would it be cheaper to just buy a new phone?What can I do to make my cell phone battery work longer?
I've always heard that you should let your battery run all the way down, then charge it completely. Do this a few times. It's kinda like resetting the memory.

Now, to get your battery to last longer, let the charge run completely dead, rub a strong magnet over the outside of the casings back side, sprinkle a pinch of salt over it while mumbling the incantation "back to life" ten times over the battery. This must be done at the darkest hour of the night also... Ok Ok.. just stop at the magnet and allow the battery to fully charge (24 hours) before putting it back in use. It should be much better than it was before. Now stop using it so much. :P

make sure it is completely discharged before recharging again. charge it up completely. A new battery is cheaper than a new phone (especially if you like yours.).. Also check your settings and keep things to a min/ like you said your back light. etc. Also drainage can happen because of your tower connection and the call you are making. If you are on digital it takes more batt power than normal setting. If you can surf the net this drains the battery too. Also if you roam a lot. As it is looking for a connection it will use more power.. these are all things to take in consideration.
btw.. it was recommended that i leave the charger on as long as possible and with my kyo there is no harm in overcharging these lion batts
make sure GSRM connection is at "when needed" instead if "always on" it just seems to help.

The problem can not be solved in anyway, there is no "training" your batter as people think.
The best way to go about it is to buy a new cell phone, b/c a new battery will cost you about $50, give or take. you may as well spend that amount towards a new phone, less hassle. b/c your new battery may present with the same problem you have now. so you would be back in the same position.

I think you need to buy a new battery. I'm not familiar with shopping for cell phone batteries, but shop around online %26amp; maybe Circuit City. Also look at the mA-h ratings %26amp; buy the one with the bigger rating even though it will cost more. This way you may end up better than a new phone.

Second, batteries don't like excess heat. Try to keep the phone out of the sun or hot glove-boxes etc.
If you wait until your battery is almost completely dead before you re-charge it, it will last longer. Waiting until you have two or so bars left and then charging it actually decreases your battery life. When you do get a new battery, start charging it this way.
my advice for you is, when you charge your cell phone, do not overcharge your battery by leaving it on overnight, keep watching your cell phone until it is fully charge, in this way, you can make the life span of your battery longer, no it is much cheaper to buy new battery than buying new cell phones.

You do this by using a dye that is absorbed by the cell membrane and then makes a large contrast between that and the background. I know of only one dye for light microscopes called Methyl Blue. It is not for cell membranes though it is for the nucleus of the cells but the principle is exactly the same, just look for light microscope slide preparation dyes.
For an electron microscope, you have to do things like preserving and embedding in wax, slicing a very thin cross section from it. Verizon has decent plans as long as you dont add on any unnecessary features like (v-cast, thats the biggest waste of money ive ever seen) and their texting plan is a little overpriced but they have good phones and good customer service and decent coverage

yeah. a friend of mine has this phone which enables her to watch TV on her phone for free. besides that it has a 1.0-1.3 megapixel camera. She bought it for around 6,000+ Pesos as compared to Nokia's N95 which sells for around 25,000+ Pesos. The Samsung Eternity is great, but a bit costy. It has a sleek touchscreen with a full keypad on the touch screen, and lets you draw your texts.
If you want something cheaper i'll suggest the AT%26amp;T Quickfire. The touch screen isn't that great but the keypad is awesome and your friends will be jealous!
LG Shine is a horrible phone. The screen cracks to easily (even when it is in your pocket). Poor quality phone. I would say get the LG Env2 from Verizon. That is the phone I have. it is cute (in black) and has tons of cool features to offer. Good quality phone too. it has a keypad on front keypad of phone %26amp; also a keyboard. It depends on who you have your contract with, and when it expires. I recently switched to AT%26amp;T, who has great service in the area in which I live. I got a Rugby--I love it. I don't need the iPHON at the price it would cost to operate it --I like lots of features but some stuff on ALL phones doesn't need to be there, and there's a lot more on the iPHON that doesn't. But I am only on my 2nd phone in 5 years, too. My old one was still fine, but I was with Qwest, so my old phone will soon be obsolete because of their merger with Verizon, who does not have good service in my area. I never checked Sprint, and sort of wish I would have, because I think they have some neat phones and good service everywhere.
